How Flip 7 scoring works
Score each round in this order. It's the order the rules use, and it's where most score sheet mistakes happen.
- Add your number cards. Each number card scores its face value, 0 to 12. Repeats never score, because a repeat is a bust.
- Double it if you have the ×2. The ×2 only doubles the number cards.
- Add the bonus cards. +2, +4, +6, +8 and +10 are added flat, after the ×2.
- Add 15 if you flipped 7. The Flip 7 bonus is never doubled.
- Write it down. Add the round to your running total. First to 200 ends the game.
Bust and you score 0 for the round, bonus cards included. Your total from earlier rounds stays.

The Flip 7 bonus
Flip seven different number cards and you score a 15 point bonus on top of your cards. The round ends right away for everyone, and players who stayed still bank what they have. The 0 counts as one of your seven, even though it's worth nothing.
Freeze, Flip Three and Second Chance
- Freeze: the player who gets it banks their points and is out for the round.
- Flip Three: the player who gets it flips the next three cards one at a time, stopping early on a bust or a Flip 7.
- Second Chance: keep it in front of you. If you flip a repeat, discard the repeat and the Second Chance and keep going. You can only hold one.
Whoever is dealt a Freeze or Flip Three picks who gets it, including themself. If you're the last one in, you have to take it.

Ben's Flip 7 ends the round for everyone. Ana and Dee bank their points. Cal's +10 doesn't save him, because a bust scores nothing.
Flip 7 questions
How do you score a round of Flip 7?
Add up your number cards. If you have the ×2, double that. Then add any +2, +4, +6, +8 or +10 cards. Last, add 15 if you flipped 7. Example: 3, 7 and 12 with ×2 and +4 is (3 + 7 + 12) × 2 + 4 = 48.
How many points is Flip 7 worth?
Flipping 7 different number cards scores a 15 point bonus on top of your cards, and it ends the round for everyone right away. The 0 counts as one of the seven, even though it's worth no points.
What happens when you bust?
If you flip a number you already have, you bust. You're out of the round and score nothing for it, modifier cards included. Your total from earlier rounds stays.
Does ×2 double the +15?
No. ×2 doubles your number cards only. It doesn't double the +15 or the +2 to +10 cards.
Can you score with only modifier cards?
Yes. A +2 to +10 card still scores even with no number cards next to it. A ×2 on its own scores nothing, because there's nothing to double.
How many Second Chances can you hold?
One at a time. If you get a second one, give it to another player who's still in. If nobody can take it, discard it. Second Chance only saves you from a repeat number, not from a Freeze, and any unused Second Chance is discarded at the end of the round.
What do Freeze and Flip Three do?
Whoever is dealt the card picks who gets it: any player still in the round, including themself. If you're the last one in, you have to take it. Freeze banks your points and takes you out of the round. Flip Three makes you flip the next three cards one at a time, stopping early if you bust or flip 7.
How do you win Flip 7?
Play rounds until someone reaches 200. Finish that round, then the highest total wins.
What is the Flip 7 tie breaker?
If two or more players are tied for the lead above 200 when the round ends, keep playing rounds until there's one winner.
How many players can play Flip 7?
The box says 3 or more, and suggests a second deck past 18 players. With one or two players you can race yourself and count how many rounds it takes to reach 200. The printable sheet has room for 8 players.
Do I need a Flip 7 score sheet?

Common Flip 7 rules questions

Can you Stay before you've flipped any cards?
No. You may Stay only if you have at least one card in front of you. With no cards, you have to Hit.
What happens if Flip Three turns up another Freeze or Flip Three?
Set it aside and keep flipping. It counts as one of your three cards. If you finish all three without busting or flipping 7, you then play that card on any active player, yourself included. If you bust or flip 7 first, it's discarded.
Can a Second Chance flipped during Flip Three save you on that same Flip Three?
Yes. Keep it right away, and it can stop a bust on the very next card of that Flip Three.
Does Second Chance protect you from a Freeze?
No. Second Chance only cancels a duplicate number card. A Freeze still banks your points and takes you out of the round.
What if the deck runs out in the middle of a round?
Shuffle the discards from earlier rounds into a new deck. Cards in front of players stay put, even the cards of players who busted.
Do action cards dealt in the opening deal wait until your turn?
No. Dealing pauses and the card is played right away, on yourself or any other active player. That's why some players start a round with no cards and others with three or four.
