How to score
- Wilds = that round’s rank. Jokers are always wild.
- Go out = 0. Leftovers: 3 to 10 at face value, J 11, Q 12, K 13, that round’s wild 20, Joker 50. Lowest after 11 rounds wins.

Five Crowns questions
What's wild in each round of Five Crowns?
The wild rank matches the number of cards dealt. Round 1 deals 3 cards, so 3s are wild. Round 2 deals 4, so 4s are wild, and so on up to round 11, when you get 13 cards and Kings are wild. Jokers are wild every round.
How do you score Five Crowns?
When the round ends, add up the cards you couldn't put into books or runs. Number cards count their face value, Jacks 11, Queens 12, Kings 13, that round's wild card 20 and Jokers 50. Whoever went out scores 0.
How much is a Joker worth in Five Crowns?
A Joker left in your hand costs you 50 points, the most of any card. A leftover wild card for that round costs 20.
Can I sit on a Joker?
You can, but a leftover Joker is 50 points. If you can't use a wild card, you're allowed to discard it. That saves you points, though it might help the next player.
What are books and runs?
A book is 3 or more cards of the same rank, in any suits. A run is 3 or more cards in a row in the same suit. Wild cards can stand in for any card, and you can use as many as you want.
What happens when someone goes out?
To go out, you lay your whole hand down in books and runs, then discard your last card. You score 0. Everyone else gets one more turn to lay down what they can, and their unused cards count against them. You can't add cards to another player's books or runs.
How many players can play Five Crowns?
The box says 1 to 7 players, and you can combine two games to play with up to 14. This sheet has room for 7.
How do you win Five Crowns?
After all 11 rounds, the lowest total wins. If players tie for lowest, the rules say you can share the win, or the tied players play one extra round with 6 cards each.

Do other players get a turn after someone goes out?
Yes. Everyone else gets exactly one more turn to lay down what they can before cards are counted.
Do you have to discard to go out in Five Crowns?
Yes. To go out you lay all your cards in books and runs and still discard one card.
Can a book or run have more than one wild?
Yes. Books and runs can use any number of wilds and Jokers, but each needs at least three cards.
Can you go out on your first turn?
Yes. If you can lay everything down after drawing, you can go out on your very first turn. Everyone else then gets one turn.
