Game Rules: Killer (Darts)

Game Identity

• Name: Killer
• Player Count: 3–8 players. Standard: 4–6. (Not suitable for 2 players.)
• Teams: No teams. All players compete individually.
• Theme: Social darts game where each player is assigned a random number to defend and attack. Eliminate other players by hitting their number.

Scoring Mechanics

• Scoring Variant: Evasion / Elimination — players lose lives when their number is hit by others. Last player standing wins.
• Target Score: N/A — lives-based elimination.
• Unit of Scoring: Lives (standard: 5 per player).
• Lower vs. Higher: Fewer lives lost is better; last with lives wins.

Rules & Validation

Setup

• Each player randomly draws a number from the dartboard (1–20). No two players share the same number.
• Each player starts with 5 lives.

Per-Turn Logic

• Each player throws 3 darts per turn.
• Becoming a Killer: A player must first hit their own number with a double to become a "Killer." Until they are a Killer, they cannot target other players.
• Once a Killer: Each time a Killer hits another player's number with a double, that player loses 1 life.
• Losing Lives: A player who reaches 0 lives is eliminated and leaves the game.
• Killing Yourself: If a Killer hits their own number with a double, they lose a life.

Validation Rules

• Lives per player decrease monotonically from 5 toward 0.
• A player must be a Killer (has hit their own double) before their attacks on others count.
• Player cannot attack once eliminated.

Special Actions / Bonuses

• Suicide: A Killer hits their own double and loses a life.
• Bullseye Rule (optional): Bullseye counts as a double for any number the player names before throwing.

Win Conditions

• Condition: Last player with lives remaining wins.
• Tie-Breaker: If two players eliminate each other simultaneously (last dart of a turn), the player who threw last is out — the other wins.
