How to score
- Everyone bids their tricks, then you play the hand.
- An exact bid scores 20 + 10 per trick. A miss loses 10 for every trick you were off.
- Trump is just a label you tap. It does not change the score.
How to play
- Deal 1 card in the first hand, then one more each hand, until all 60 cards are dealt.
- There is no rule against the bids adding up to the cards.
Questions
Can the bids equal the tricks? Yes. Wizard has no dealer rule, so any total is fine.
What is trump on the last hand? No trump. Every card is dealt, so there is nothing left to turn up.

Game Identity
- Name: Wizard
- Player Count: 3 to 6 players
- Teams: No teams. Everyone plays for themselves.
- Theme: Trick-taking card game with a 60-card deck: the 52 standard cards plus 4 Wizards and 4 Jesters.
Scoring Mechanics
- Scoring Variant: Accumulative. Every hand adds to (or takes from) each player's total.
- Target Score: No fixed target. The game ends when every card has been dealt in the last hand. Highest total wins.
- Unit of Scoring: Points from each player's bid and the tricks they took.
- Lower vs. Higher: Higher total wins.
Rules & Validation
How a hand works
- Hand 1 deals 1 card to each player, hand 2 deals 2, and so on up to 60 ÷ players: 20 hands for 3 players, 15 for 4, 12 for 5, and 10 for 6. There is no trip back down.
- When cards are left over, turn up the next one for trump. On the last hand every card is dealt, so there is no trump.
- Everyone bids how many tricks they will take, then plays the hand. The deal moves one seat to the left each hand.
What the scorecard calculates
Source: Wizard on Wikipedia.
- Exact bid: 20 points plus 10 per trick. Bid 3 and take 3 = 50. Bid 0 and take 0 = 20.
- Missed bid: minus 10 for every trick you were off. Bid 3 and take 1 = −20. Bid 0 and take 2 = −20.
Validation Rules
- Each bid is 0 up to the number of cards in the hand.
- There is no dealer rule. The bids may add up to the number of cards.
- The tricks taken must add up to the cards dealt before the hand can be scored.
- The player count locks once the first hand is scored.
Special Actions / Bonuses
- Wizards and Jesters: they decide who wins tricks during play. The scorecard only needs the bids and tricks, so it doesn't track them.
- Trump: a label only. It is never scored.
Win Conditions
- Condition: The game ends after the last hand. Highest total wins.
- Tie-Breaker: Tied players share the win.
